Who cares if the car is a 2.0L or not? Not me, that's for sure!
So, spoiling the clean lines of the PT Cruiser, these badges on the rear door had to go. There were three in all, one reading CHRYSLER, another reading CLASSIC and the third said 2.0L:
I started off by heating the lettering with a hot hair dryer, to soften the glue. I then peeled off the chrome letters. It is worth noting that these badges aren't solid plastic, more of a chrome letter on a foam type background, making them somewhat spongy to the touch.
With the chrome covering peeled off, we're left with one almighty mess:
A bit more heat from the hair dryer and I was able to get most of the heavy residue off. Once most of it was gone, I used some Betterware Sticky Stuff Remover applied to a cloth and gently rubbed what was left of the residue away.
Once all the sticky stuff was gone, you could still see an outline of the lettering in the paint, this is probably down to a bit of sun fade or bleeching over the years. To remove the shadowing, I polished the surface to a high shine using some Turtlewax Color Magic.
Do this on both sides of the car (too many badges!) and I'm sure you'll agree, the overall result of a debadged car is much better:
