It's time for the OEM rear lights to be replaced with some seriously shiny Altezza (aka Lexus) style lenses. Available from PT Company in the UK and a few suppliers in the USA, they come as a pair (just as well eh?) and are also supplied with orange indicator bulbs (argh!). A closer look:
Again, this is a pretty straight forward modification to do. You'll need around ten minutes for the whole job, start to finish. First up, the existing rear light is removed by taking out the single Torx bolt which holds it in place:
Once the Torx bolt is removed, the lens is held in place by two hidden clips. Be careful here not to snap them off. With the existing lens removed, the two bulb holders (indicator and stop/tail) are simply rotated 90 degrees to remove them:
Fitting the new lenses is as simple as putting the bulb holders into the back of the new lens then turning them 90 degrees to secure them in place. Clip the whole light assembly back into the body, not forgetting to put the Torx bolt back in!
A couple of 'before and after' photos for you:
And at a wider angle:
Sorted.
