The sixteenth modification, Port Holes

I've loved these things since I first saw them (cheers Kreecher!), the only thing that put me off was the price.

The PT Company in the UK used to charge £99 quid for them, frightening. They've now dropped the price to £59.95, still bloody frightening though.

After a bit of shopping around on the Internet, I found a supplier in America called Auto Decor which sell them for just £12.97 (including delivery to the UK!), a bit more realistic eh?

The port holes in question are made by Pilot Automotive, based in California and are called Fender Accents. They arrive from Auto Decor in a pack of six:

They attach to the car by simply removing the sticky backing to reveal your usual 3M Automotive Tape. This stuff sticks to the car like shit to a blanket. You only get one shot at fixing these things on so be very careful.

I used masking tape to decide exactly where to position them. I measured and inch from the edge of the bonnet (where it meets the door), then left an inch gap between each one. I rolled up a small piece of masking tape and stuck it on the back of each one first (just to be sure of the positioning), then masked around the bonnet using my inch measurements. You'll notice that each port hole is level to the masking tape at the bottom and that at least one edge of a port hole is touching a measured mark:

With the masking tape in place, you can then simply stick the port holes in place. As above though, be bloody sure of your positioning as you only get one chance with these sticky pads!

With the port holes stuck in place, remove all your masking tape to reveal the end result (click the photos to enlarge):
