The 23rd mod, LED Fog Light Bulbs

Hot on the heels of the Twin Fog & Reversing Lights mod, I wasn't keen on red bulbs in clear lenses (much like I'm not keen on orange bulbs in clear lenses either!) so decided to replace the red fog light bulbs with clear LED bulbs (that (of course) shine red when lit).

I bought one set on eBay from the only genuinely UK based seller of 3157-type LED bulbs called CSM Supplies. When they arrived, one didn't work anyway (yeah, cheers mate) and they just weren't right. Even after some silver paint (to hide them in the lens) I wasn't impressed. Mainly because they only shone straight outwards which is fine if you were right behind the car, they'd dazzle you, but go off center by the slightest bit and the effect would be gone and they just looked dim as hell. The real problem was the reflector itself just wasn't being lit properly, due to the cluster of 12 LEDs shining straight out of the lens:

Not long after fitting these I took them out and put them in the bin, they're pants. So is the eBay seller of them.

So, back to eBay, this time for some proper LED bulbs!

I stumbled upon an eBay shop called Calmotor Inc who have the most ridiculous bulbs in stock, they're fantastic. After a bit of thinking, I settled upon these monster 57x LED bulbs:

Yup, that's right, FIFTY SEVEN LED bulbs, in one cluster. These mofos are BRIGHT.

Fitting is obviously a straight swap. I wasn't sure about the depth of the lens at first, these things are quite long and I thought they might hit the lens but no fear not, they clear the lens with plenty of room to spare.
